Security barriers at County Hall - important information

Important points to remember when using the security barriers at County Hall:

1. Always come and meet your visitors in reception. You cannot swipe your card from the corridor side of the barriers to let someone through from reception. The barriers will close on the person trying to come through.

Therefore, when approaching the security barrier you must swipe your card and come through into reception to meet your visitor. You then need to swipe your card twice (and make sure you hear two beeps), before you both go through the barrier.

2. If on approaching the barriers you see they are open, you still need to swipe your card before going through the barriers, to ensure that they do not close as you go through.

3. If you have a trolley or something similar, you must swipe your card twice (and make sure you hear two beeps) before you go through the barrier, as it senses large objects, not just people.

If you have any queries please speak to reception.
